Choosing your wedding cake can be a lot of fun, nowadays the possibilities are endless. But before you make any decisions, you should have an idea on your head count and budget. After this is done, consider the following options:

 

PeriwinkleSize – The amount of people you have attending your wedding determines the amount of cake needed. Now don’t think that just because the number of guests attending dictates that you have to have a certain size or style. If you have your heart set on say a four-tiered cake, but your guest count puts you at a three-tiered cake, one of your tiers can be a “fake” or Styrofoam filled layer. You’ll get the look you want, not spend the money or waste cake on something that won’t be eaten, and your guests will be none the wiser. On the other side, maybe the budget doesn’t allow you to have the exact cake you want. So there is still something to cut, you can possibly have a small cake or have all but one layer of the displayed cake Styrofoam filled. Then have sheet cakes in the back that is what will actually be served.

Wedding days can easily become overwhelming, especially if you planned a big ceremony complete with old middle school friends or perhaps even those old work buddies from that job you held in college. It is a timeless tradition for every bride to have something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. It originates from an old English rhyme, which has been known to have started in the Victorian era is still used today in the 21st century. It is said that if the bride has all four items on her wedding day, she will have a happy marriage. The original rhyme goes:

Something old, something new

Something borrowed, something blue

And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

All four things the bride chooses can have a special meaning behind it. Here is some help to explain why these things are important and how you can go about choosing them for your big day. All four items, used together are supposed to bring the bride good luck on her big day. Some brides like to choose things that they can pass down to their daughters one day for their weddings.
